Wojciech Koprowski is a distinguished Polish violinist, soloist, chamber musician and pedagogue. As a soloist he has appeared with numerous orchestras, including the Max Bruch Philharmonie in Sondershausen, Philharmonie Baden-Baden, as well as the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Warsaw and the Baltic, Zielona Góra, Łódź, Rzeszów, Częstochowa and Opole Philharmonic Orchestras. He has also collaborated with the Symphony Orchestra of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, Camerata Vistula and Capella Gedanensis.
From 2007 to 2025 he was a member of the Meccore String Quartet, one of the most highly regarded string quartets of its generation. With the ensemble he performed in prestigious concert halls worldwide, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall in London, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Beethoven-Haus in Bonn and BOZAR in Brussels. In Poland he appeared in most of the country’s leading philharmonic halls.
Wojciech Koprowski graduated with distinction from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the class of Professor Konstanty Andrzej Kulka. Together with the Meccore String Quartet he studied with members of the Camerata Quartet and Artemis Quartett at the Universität der Künste in Berlin and at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels. He also worked with Günter Pichler of the Alban Berg Quartett during postgraduate studies at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid.
Wojciech Koprowski’s repertoire encompasses a wide range of violin works, including the complete Sonatas for Solo Violin by Eugène Ysaÿe, which he performed during a single recital. His debut album Ysaÿe Impressions received critical acclaim and was nominated for the Fryderyk Award 2010 in the categories “Solo Recital of the Year” and “Debut of the Year.”
He currently serves as Professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków, where he shares his experience and artistic insight with the next generation of violinists.
